We’re pleased to announce the arrival of our FW23 collection, available online and in-store.
As with our previous fall/winter collections, it reflects our steadfast fondness for winter-conquering outerwear, as there’s nothing like the warm, duvet-like embrace of a goose-down padded jacket, or the allure of a knee-length overcoat crafted from rich wool. This comprehensive collection, which is entirely Made in Italy, features around 50 unique styles with additional colourways. The result is a range of jackets, coats and knitwear that are not only made to the highest standards but harken back to our formative years whilst nodding towards the ever-evolving tastes within menswear, featuring classic raincoats, shearling flying jackets and western-inspired gilets.
Naturally, the FW23 collection wouldn’t be complete without an array of our signature jacket, the Valstarino, which has transcended changes in fashion ever since its inception in 1935. Part of the beauty of the Valstarino is that it’s a simple design – just like the Livia chair or Tolomeo lamp – with its five-button front, funnel neck, ribbed cuffs and hem, resulting in a template that can be applied to an array of materials. Whilst there are plenty of butter-soft goat suede iterations in subdued, autumnal colours, either unlined, lined or fitted with goose-down padded linings, we’ve developed a hybrid iteration that features knitted arms, a handful of shearling versions and one special edition made from deerskin with a cashmere lining. The latter is quite possibly the most luxurious Valstarino jacket we’ve ever created and comes available in four timeless colourways.
While the Valstarino jacket stands as the brand's hallmark, our journey, which began in 1911, was dedicated to the creation of elegant and practical raincoats and overcoats, a tradition we continue to uphold to this day. This season, we’ve produced a waxed-cotton belted raincoat. The fabric is sourced from Halley Stevenson, which is a world leader in manufacturing waxed cotton, and as a result, the coat is exceptionally proficient in repelling rain. In terms of the design, it has a relaxed silhouette care of the raglan shoulder and a louche belt that looks great undone and tightly wrapped, creating an even more dramatic shape.

For those cold, crisp days with blue skies, our range of overcoats crafted from heavy wool will come in handy. One of the highlights is the camel hair overcoat made from a fabric with a Casentino-like finish. It too has a raglan shoulder for increased comfort and its fuzzy, wonderfully warm and textured handle makes it a delight to wear. Elsewhere there are classic overcoats crafted from salt and pepper wool, rich houndstooths with autumnal notes and classic navy for those days when a degree of formality is necessary.
In recent seasons, we've drawn inspiration from the American West, resulting in collections that feature cowboy, rodeo, and lumberjack-inspired jackets and coats. These garments are rich in history and noble in their purpose, and rendering them from luxurious suedes elevates them into a new, undiscovered realm. From bright, heavy wool plaid overshirts to chocolate brown corduroy goose-down gilets, field jackets and more, there’s a wide range of jackets and coats that finely balance being understated and standouts.
To complement the range of jackets and coats, we’ve developed our largest collection of cashmere knitwear to date. Spanning from classic crewnecks to ribbed quarter zips and even incredibly special boucle hoodies, the yarns are all sourced from Cariaggi. This family-owned company is unquestionably the gold standard for cashmere, and the yarns are all of supreme quality not just in the hand feel but also in the depth and vibrancy of colours. From bright pinks to rich browns, our knitwear collection seamlessly blends in with all of our jackets and coats.
From everyone at Valstar, we hope you enjoy this collection as much as we enjoyed producing it.
